The use and meaning of silica gel
Silicone rubberIt is a kind of polymer elastic material with both inorganic and organic molecular bonds. Its molecular main bond is composed of silicon atoms and oxygen atoms alternately. The bond energy of silicon-oxygen bond can reach 370kj/mol, which is much larger than the carbon-carbon bond energy of ordinary rubber 240KJ/mol. This is one of the main reasons why silica gel has high thermal stability.
Silicone rubber has the widest working temperature range (-100~350 ℃), excellent high and low temperature resistance, in addition, it also has excellent thermal stability, electrical insulation, weather resistance, ozone resistance, air permeability, high transparency, tear strength, excellent heat dissipation and excellent adhesion, fluidity and release, some special silicone rubber also has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, radiation resistance and the use of ultra-high and low temperature characteristics.
Silicone rubber use: can be used for molding high-voltage edge and other electronic components; used in the production of televisions, computers, copiers, etc., but also used as weather resistance and durability of the molding gasket, electronic parts packaging materials, automotive electrical parts Protective materials. Can be used for housing construction and repair, highway joint sealing and reservoir, bridge caulking seal. In addition, there are special-purpose silicone rubber, such as conductive silicone rubber, medical silicone rubber, foam silicone rubber, molding silicone rubber, heat shrinkable silicone rubber, etc.

Key Points for Attention in Design of Liquid Silicone Mold
In mold design, there are generally the following forms:
1) general plastic mold using hot runner
It is a waste of materials, simple design, low cost, and is mostly used for large products.
2) The silicone mold is generally a cold runner with a needle valve
Can be automated, short cycle.
3) Cold runner without needle valve
Due to the high coefficient of expansion of the LSR, it expands when heated and shrinks slightly when cooled, so the part cannot maintain a precise side margin in the mold. Therefore, cold runner processing can be used. LSR should maintain low temperature and fluidity. Cold runner adopts closed system. In the injection cycle, closed system adopts "sealing needle" or "needle valve" in each runner to control the accurate measurement of LSR material. Due to the significant thermal expansion characteristics of silicone rubber, the shrinkage rate is 2 ~ 4% (vulcanization temperature is 150 ℃), and the silicone rubber has the characteristics of compression deformation.
1) To avoid turbulence and jetting, use a small glue injection port.
2) Use needle-shaped or wing-shaped glue injection port
3) Use T-shaped guide bolt instead of cylindrical guide bolt, and add heat insulation layer/plate in air blowing mode during demoulding.
4) Do not use rust inhibitor/oil containing polymerization inhibitor, generally available toluene, xylene, etc.
In addition, the cured LSR is easy to stick to the metal surface, and the most common demolding techniques include thimble ejection and air pushing.
