Before installation, the surface quality of the seal should be checked first, and there should be no flash, burr, crack and trimming. Defects such as pores and looseness, the geometric size and accuracy of the seal must meet the standard requirements. The combined sealing ring for the hole consists of an O-ring and a wear ring. Because the O-ring seal is more elastic, it is easier to install; while the wear ring is less elastic, if it is directly installed, the steps and grooves of the piston are easy to scratch the sealing surface, which affects the sealing effect of the seal.
In order to ensure that the wear ring is not damaged during installation, certain installation measures should be taken. The wear-resistant ring seal is mainly made of filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and large thermal expansion coefficient. Therefore, before installation, soak it in 100 ℃ oil for 20min to gradually soften it, and then install it in the groove of the piston with tooling. The tooling consists of positioning sleeve and expansion sleeve. The positioning sleeve head has a 5o chamfer to guide the O-ring seal and wear ring to install the piston end groove. The expansion sleeve is made of 65 Mn steel with good elasticity after heat treatment, and is processed into a uniform and symmetrical 8-petal structure.

It should be noted that when processing the small holes at the bottom of each flap, the indexing should be uniform. When milling each flap, the saw edge should be aligned with the center of the small hole to ensure that each flap of the expansion sleeve can be evenly opened. At the same time, all parts should be (smooth) chamfered to avoid damage to the sealing ring. Each specification of the sealing ring should have a set of corresponding tooling to ensure its assembly requirements. The sealing ring shall not be wrinkled, twisted, scratched or reversed after installation. Hydraulic cylinder barrel, the threaded hole on the cylinder barrel is often processed after the welding process, so it is inevitable to produce burrs at the junction of the threaded hole outlet and the inner wall of the cylinder barrel.
In order to remove burrs, special tools must be designed and made to process them to achieve the purpose of smooth transition. Special tool structure. When in use, first insert the cutter rod from the threaded hole, and then install the cutter head on the cutter rod from the side. Rotate the cutter rod to remove the burrs and process a smooth and complete surface. Another type of seal is the Y-shaped sealing ring made of polyurethane material. Because of its high hardness, high elasticity, oil resistance, wear resistance and low temperature resistance, it is widely used in hydraulic cylinders. Its inner and outer lips can be made into unequal height shapes according to the shaft or hole to play the role of sealing and self-protection.
Unequal high lip Y-ring seals, the short lip is in contact with the sealing surface, the sliding friction resistance is small, the wear resistance is good, and the service life is long; the long lip and the non-relative moving surface have a large amount of pre-compression, and it is not easy to move when working. Due to the high hardness and large amount of pre-compression of the Y-ring seal made of polyurethane, the sealing ring is often crushed, rolled and undercut and other damage phenomena are often caused during installation and replacement, thus failing to achieve the desired sealing effect or even failure. During assembly, we used a screwdriver to press the sealing lip in along the cylinder diameter;
Or use a thin wire to tie the outer lip of the sealing ring tightly to make its outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the cylinder, and then send the sealing ring into the cylinder, and then pull out the thin wire. However, these two installation methods are easy to scratch the sealing ring, resulting in seal failure and increasing maintenance time. In view of this situation, we use 0.lmm thick cold-rolled steel strip or copper sheet to cut it into a rectangle, its length is equal to the circumference of the outer diameter of the Y-ring seal, and then use it to wrap the sealing ring tightly, and then send it into the hydraulic cylinder barrel at 1.1 points, and then pull it out after all the outer lip mouth enters the cylinder barrel. The installation effect is good.
