Equipment and application of mechanical seals for pumps Mechanical seals are widely used in various types of pumps. Mechanical seal is a kind of high precision sealing equipment, which has a certain demand for equipment and application conditions.
1. General guidelines for the application of O-ring mechanical seal equipment
(1) To clarify the situation of the equipment, it is necessary to know the rotating speed and shaft diameter of the rotating shaft of the equipment; The manufacturing accuracy and sealing cavity scale of the equipment, the service life of the equipment itself and the orientation of the equipment in the production process should be considered in a balanced way.
(2) budget medium pressure. The pressure of the sealed cavity of the pump is usually not the outlet pressure of the pump, but lower than the outlet pressure of the pump
(3) Clarify the sealing medium. It is necessary to know whether the sealing medium is gaseous or liquid and whether the medium contains particles and particles. Know the nature and temperature of the medium so as to reasonably select and adopt the necessary cooling, flushing and smoothing methods.

2. Skill requirements for the application of O-ring mechanical seal equipment
(1) The radial runout of the shaft or shaft sleeve at the mechanical seal part of the equipment shall conform to Table 1. The surface roughness of the shaft or sleeve should meet the skill requirements, and the outer diameter scale is h6.
(2) The axial movement of the drive shaft shall not exceed 0.2mm.
(3) The beating of the end face of the sealed cavity to the appearance of the shaft shall be consistent with the public service.

(5) when the transport medium temperature is too high, too low or rich in impurity particles, flammable, explosive, toxic, should adopt the corresponding blocking, flushing, cooling, filtering and other measures.
(6) For some mechanical seals driven by tension springs, it is necessary to pay attention to the rotation direction of the tension spring, that is, the rotation direction of the shaft should make the tension spring tighter and tighter, otherwise it will constitute seal failure. The selection of the rotation direction of the tension spring is determined by the following methods: from the static ring to the moving ring, the shaft rotates clockwise with a right-handed tension spring, otherwise, a left-handed tension spring is selected.

Preparation before equipment and precautions for equipment
① Check whether the type and specification of the mechanical seal of the equipment to be carried out are correct and whether the parts are short.
② Check whether the components of the mechanical seal are damaged, especially whether the sealing end faces of the moving ring and the static ring are damaged. If damage is found, repair or replace new parts. All sealing elements shall be cleaned with gasoline or kerosene, and the surface of each element shall be free of dust and foreign matters.
③ Whether there are burrs and groove marks on the outer surface of the shaft or shaft sleeve, the inner wall of the sealing cavity and the inner surface of the sealing end cover. If burrs and ditch marks are found, they should be smoothed and polished, and cleaned with gasoline or kerosene. They should be kept clean, and no dust and sundries should be attached to the appearance.
④ Do not use unclean cloth or cotton gauze to wipe the surface of the moving ring and static ring, should use clean and soft gauze, absorbent cotton and other things to wipe.
⑤ During the equipment process, the equipment should be kept clean to ensure that the sealing end faces of the moving ring and the static ring are not scratched or broken. In order to facilitate loading, the equipment should be modified with oil on the appearance of the shaft or shaft sleeve, and the appearance of the gland and the sealing ring to avoid dry conflicts at the moment of starting.
